Happy TABLESCAPE TUESDAY!!!
I hope you are having a great week so far! For today's Tablescape Tuesday, I'd like to share the tablescape for our latest "Sunday Family Dinner"! This was a special one because we had some special guests...My father and his girlfriend came to join us for dinner. They had just gotten back from a cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship, so I decided to name this tablescape "THE ROYAL TREATMENT" in honor of having them as our honored guests, and the fact that they were on a Royal Caribbean cruise!
For this, I wanted my main colors to be Purple and Gold (of course with a touch of black and white.
I decided to use my black tablecloths, and some new purple and gold ribbon I got from Walmart on clearance after Christmas! I really like how it turned out! Next time I will use some double-sided tape to hold the ribbon down. It did kind of pop up a little here and there, most likely due to the wires in the ribbon, and I had to smooth it back down several times.
You might recognize the gold pillar candle bases from my New Years Eve Tablescape here. The candleholders on top of the gold pillar bases were part of my awesome Big Lots clearance finds after the Holidays. $2.50 for two of them! To see that post, you can click here.
I used my gold chargers, my dollar store white plates and bowls, and for the dessert/salad plate, I actually used some purple plastic plates from the Dollar store. I have not found a set of purple plates that I like yet, so these had to do in a pinch. I really need to buy some new flatware. I'd love to get a pretty matching silver set and a pretty matching gold set. Of course, I'm looking for ECONOMICAL, yet lovely! haha!
The purple wine glasses were a great goodwill find..and I had just enough... 6 of them!
Here is the table all lit up at night (we had more of a luncheon than a dinner, so these pics were from the night before)
The Centerpiece is a gold basket with a tall candleholder I found at Ross. Also in the basket, I added some smaller purple sparkly candle holders...also part of that Big Lots Bargain craze, along with some glass tealight holders, some gold tinsel garland and a gold sparkle leafy thing that was on the gold pillar candle bases, but looked a little too Christmas-y for keeping on them.
Here is the "royal spread"! I will be posting the recipe for the Crock Pot Lasagna in tomorrow's "Whadda We Eatin' Wednesday". It was REALLY delicious and super easy...my favorite combination!!!
Here's the buffet table all lit up at night! Those tall candles toward the back are from the bases of those cupcake domes I found at Ross last week as part of my "Ross Shopping Haul". Everything else on this buffet table is from thrift stores or the Dollar Tree.

Hi Linda! Thank you so much for visiting and for following my blog! I'd love to get your blog address and follow you right back so we can stay in touch!
DeleteThat's so funny you mentioned the Mardi Gras table because we're out of town this week and so I wasn't going to be able to do too much for next Sunday's family dinner...so the Mardi Gras theme is a perfect transition!!! Thanks again and I'm looking forward to keeping up with your blog! =D
This is so pretty! I would be over the moon if someone did this for me! How special. I think the ribbon the table is really pretty! Boy, you got some amazing deals!
ReplyDeleteKaren
Thank you, Karen! It's so much fun putting them together!!! =D
DeleteGreat idea with the ribbon! The table certainly gave them the royal treatment. Love all the candles and the night shots. xo marlis
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marlis! I really appreciate that! It was a fun one to put together because I really love the look of purple and gold. Thank you so much for stopping by! I love your blog, by the way! =D
DeleteVery pretty table...you could very easily turn it into a Mardi Gras table by adding a little green! Yummy looking food!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marigene! Yes, that is actually the plan. We're out of town until Saturday, and so I wasn't going to have a lot of time to put a new table together, so I'm just gonna switch out a few pieces and call it MARDI GRAS! haha! Thanks so much for visiting this post and for your sweet comment! It really does mean a lot! =D
DeleteHello, and Happy One Month Anniversary! I hope you're having fun with you new blog! How nice of you to treat your Dad & his mate to such a special table! I'm sure they were tickled pink by your efforts! You put together the perfect table with great bargains. It's great to find good stuff at bargain prices! I agree with Marigene (comment above me) that you could just add some green and have a rockin' Mardi Gras table! Welcome again to the Wonderful World of Blog, and have a great weekend!

DeleteNice royal theme for the returning 'cruisers'! I agree with the others that you are well on your way to a Mardi Gras table theme as well. Using the ribbons was a great idea for adding that touch of color. Seeing your buffet candles on their cupcake stands reminded me that I wanted to check out our local Ross to see if I can find that same bargain. They are just adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Tammy! Yes, I've got quite a bit of stuff from this table sticking around for Mardi Gras, that's for sure! =D I've noticed that more of those cupcake domes are popping up at some of the other Ross stores around where I live..I hope you can find some! I just love them! Have agreat day and thanks again for visiting and commenting! =D
DeleteI am sure your dad enjoyed the royal treatment at this pretty table!
ReplyDeleteIt took me a long time to find the right purple dishes, and I was recently gifted some purple flatware by my friend The Tablescaper. Can't wait to use it!
Thanks so much for linking to Let's Dish
Hi Kathleen! Thanks for your nice comment! I love all the tables that both you and the Tablescaper do...you are both great inspirations! I sure wish I could come shopping with the two of you sometime! Looking forward to seeing you at the next "Let's Dish!" =D
DeleteHi, I know I left a comment before thanking you for linking up at Monday Makeover and telling you how much I love your table, but it seems to be gone. So, here goes again! Your table looks great. Congrats on your 1st month of blogging and I look forward to seeing more.
